Lauren Castrogiovanni is a volunteer for Global Orphan Prevention and sat on the Auction Committee for our inaugural black-tie Passport 2 Freedom Gala.
Lauren was instrumental in helping secure items for our silent auction, and helped run the auction during the event, including registration, setup, and checkout. She helped raise nearly $7,000 from just the silent auction alone, and helped us gross $113,646 from the gala.
We wanted to sit down with Lauren to find out what makes her tick.
What do people often thank you for?
My kindness and honesty.
What do you see as your place or purpose in life? How did you come to that conclusion?
To help make this world just a little bit better, even just for a few people and animals.
What’s your favorite aspect about being involved with GlobalOP? And what are your current or former duties?
I think the cause is global and needs more attention. I was happy have a small role in helping to bring acknowledgement to orphan trade. My former duties were collecting auction items for the silent auction.
If Global Orphan Prevention were to be on the cover of your favorite magazine in five years, what would the story be about?
A lot of great people coming together on their own time, volunteering, to make a change in this world.
What would be your advice to younger generations about learning about causes, getting involved, and doing something about it?
Dip your feet in, see if it’s something you love doing. The feeling of ‘doing good’ is addictive.
