What do people often thank you for?
People most often thank me for being there for them in difficult situations or transitions.

What do you see as your place or purpose in life? How did you come to that conclusion?
First and foremost is my relationship with God and by extension learning about love and all the ways it manifests in the world. I came to this conclusion because my relationship and the actions that are taken that align with this purpose are what bring me the most fulfillment.

What’s your favorite aspect about being on the Gala planning committee and volunteering? And what are your current duties?
I like being on the Gala planning committee because it has been a great learning experience. I enjoy it when we come together and collaborate. Currently, I am serving as the committee secretary.

If Global Orphan Prevention were to be on the cover of your favorite magazine in five years, what would the story be about?
The amazing impact and developments in Nepal that we have been able to realize.

What do you feel have been the important successes in your life? The frustrations?
some of the best successes I have had is coming back into agreement with myself and falling in love with my soul. Also, rising above the chaos that was my childhood and providing a better environment for my children. Some of my frustrations have been doing things just to prove my worth but that wasn’t in alignment with my purpose.

What would be your advice to younger generations about learning about causes, getting involved, and doing something about it?
My advice would be to invest in developing your self-awareness. Then you will be able to heed the call of what really resonates with you. If there is something you see in your environment that seems unjust, or there are those who need help you will be able to take action. It’s easy to fall into apathy when we don’t have a good relationship with ourselves, but it is also very easy to exhaust ourselves if we don’t take proper care of ourselves too.

Anything else you want to talk about?
Not that I can think of.
