GHYANGPHEDI, NEPAL -- What has been a four year dream in the making has finally come into fruition. We are happy to report that construction has finally begun on our Girls Empowerment Center & Dormitory in Ghyangphedi, in the Nuwakot District of Nepal.  After the devastating 2015 Nepal earthquakes, Global Orphan Prevention founder Katie Hilborn and her team stumbled upon a village with an inordinate number of "missing girls" while delivering disaster aid.
Our inaugural fundraising gala for Global Orphan Prevention was a smashing success! The number of high-level humans under one roof with a single purpose to create change was incredible. Thank you all so much for joining us on our journey. The energy and love about the room on Saturday night created such a buzz, and it's all because of you.
It’s possible that  you have heard this term thrown around lately. Just recently you may have heard about Robert Kraft, the New England Patriots owner who was charged with human trafficking. It is possible that you may have even heard that there are more slaves today than any other time in history.
Upon first arrival, I was bemused.  The zig and zag of traffic in and out of dust filled lanes, the constant beep beeps, amazed there were zero accidents that I could see, just a cloud of dust floating over the barely paved narrow roadways. Trash scattered the streets and sidewalks, electric wires stretched between the buildings, resembling the way you'd expect a mouse to compose it's sprawling nest like clusters
With your help and generosity during our GlobalGiving Crowdfunding Campaign, we were able to complete Phase I  (assessment and land transfer) for our Girl's Empowerment Center & Dormitory in Fall 2018, and now we are working to raise the remaining funds to complete Phase II.
-Have you ever dreamed of seeing Mt. Everest up close?  How about climbing 21,247 foot Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in the Solu Khumbu Region?  Have you dreamed of trekking for a cause? Join us for a trek in Nepal to help fund our Anti-Child Trafficking Program! The proceeds from this trip of a lifetime will go towards our new social entrepreneurial program in the Shikharbesi, Nuwakot region of Nepal!
